The Deepest Wisdom I Know

If I had to distill everything I’ve learned through courses, coaching, facilitating, mothering, healing, and just plain living, it would come down to three words: Settle to remember. It might sound gentle, but don’t let that fool you. This is fierce work. Soul work. The kind of work that asks you to be, not do.

But What Are We Remembering, Exactly?

We’re remembering that we are already whole and that we were born enough. The reality we think we’re trying to fix “out there” is often just a projection of what’s happening within.

You know those moments when it feels like something’s off in your world—whether it's a tension in a relationship, a lack of clarity, or your dog barking at imaginary threats out the window (true story)? What if that “something” isn’t out there?

What if it’s just your unsettled mind trying to make sense of the noise?

We’ve been taught to do presence as if it’s a checklist item: Breathe. Think better thoughts. But the truth is, presence isn’t a doing. It’s a felt sense. A deep stillness that already lives within you—waiting patiently for you to remember.

The Wisdom of a Wobbly Baby

The other day I worked with an 18-year old girl who missed an exam and spiraled into self-judgment: “I should’ve done this,” “Why didn’t I…” You know the drill. I reminded her of when she was a baby, determined to walk before her body was quite ready. She’d toddle into walls, fall over, laugh, and get back up. There was no shame. No inner monologue dissecting every fall.

She just knew what was next. Stand. Walk. Repeat.

That, my friends, is the wisdom we forget.

Settling Isn't Giving Up—It’s Waking Up

Every day, we are offered the choice to stay on the mental train to Crazy Town (oh yes, I’ve been there) or get off at Bliss Station. And the ticket? Settling. Being. Remembering.

Not fixing. Not strategizing. Not “thinking positive.”

Just... being with what is. Right now.

When I drop into that quiet awareness, even the most triggering external events lose their charge. I can see situations and others not as challenges, obstacles, or even enemies, but as—dare I say—precious babies, just like we all once were.

This Is the Fire

When I settle and remember, something shifts. I become the fire. Not in an egoic “look at me” kind of way—but a quiet burn that lights others up simply by existing. When I’m on fire, others feel it. They remember, too.

So if you’re feeling unsettled, unsure, or spiraling into a story about what’s wrong, pause and try this: Settle. Feel. Remember.

You were never broken.
You already know.
You’ve always been enough.
