Universal Truths & The False Beliefs That Blind You - Week #41 of The Awakening Journey

People are inherently worthy. We are brought into this world as babies - born pure, innocent, and valuable. This is a universal truth. We are here to connect, create, and contribute in our own unique way. This is true of all human beings and this is also true of you.

However, this isn’t always the way it ends up. We can sometimes feel we are in a mess or at best, just not making our greatest contribution. In this article, we are going to discuss what gets us off our universal path and how to get back on it and align with our own Universal Truths.

What happens when we are disconnected from the Universal Truth?

We get lost and off our path. We forget the Universal Truths of being inherently worthy, valuable, unique, and important in the over-arching arc of human evolution. Instead, we believe the stories of the world, and the messages we get through our conditioning. We make these messages, these stories into our own truth and they become False Beliefs.

What are False Beliefs?

Any thoughts you have that are negative, thoughts that make you small and keep you from seeing the truth of who you are. For example, rackets, stories, and even negative thoughts you have about yourself.

A while back, I was made aware of a challenge my child was having that was being caused by someone else. It was something one may consider relatively serious. This is valid, a fact. We want to protect our children, so it’s my job to determine what is a detriment, right?

I felt upset, triggered, and compelled to intervene on her behalf. I wanted to talk to the other party and right this wrong, this harm that I perceived being caused to my child.  I wanted them to see that they are wrong and for them to change.

When I paused for a moment, I saw that I had a belief: what other people do to my child will be a long-term detriment to her life and her character. At the time, this belief felt like the truth. And an extremely painful one that “I” (my ego) very much wanted to resolve.

Now, I (my True Self) really had to stop and look much deeper to unearth what is the universal truth.

But first, I had to get clear about what was truly a false belief. I had to be brutally honest with myself about what was coming up for me that was being reflected out there

I slowed way down and asked myself some hard questions. I realized what I actually felt was fear. Fear for her safety and well-being.

But it took a moment longer to connect to what was underneath that… A False Belief about my parenting. My effort at parenting up until now.

Deeper under that was my racket, my fracture which is I’m not good enough. This insidious racket snuck in under the radar with seemingly valid data: I am here to protect my kids at all costs.

Leveling Up on a Universal Scale

The level up is when we believe even the most subtle & unconscious thoughts without investigation, we short-change ourselves and create a huge disconnection from ourselves and life.

When you are present, you can become aware of these false beliefs, and identify how they are keeping you blocked and in suffering, drama, and fear.

So what did I do with the False Belief that my daughter was in danger? I created a new empowering belief.

I asked someone to coach and hold space for me as I talked through my false belief in a logical way. I championed myself with data - a list that supports how many ways I’ve empowered my kids to persevere through challenges and that is what they need to grow, thrive, and flourish.

I learned to guide her to make solid decisions, to not take this situation personally, and to trust that the values-based foundation we have built over the years will be strong enough to hold her.

And more importantly, kids need to see/feel/hear their parents letting go of false beliefs and getting into universal alignment.

Universal Alignment

When you “wake up” and let go of your false beliefs, you can literally feel the universe speaking to you -- with zero blocks.

Here is a simple example of what universal alignment might look and feel like:

You may have this happen after a car ride where you have just been sitting and being present. Or it could come after meditation, or at the beach while listening to the waves crash upon the shore.

Sometimes alignment will come with a disembodied feeling, a deep sense of peace passing over my whole body, or a complete cessation of thought for just one moment. Sometimes, for me, I will suddenly sit up and have an inner knowing the answer to a question I’ve been pondering.

This Week’s Challenge

  1. Identify an area you might have a false belief.  Hint - “They are wrong because…“

  2. Let go of this false belief for just a few minutes.

  3. Create an empowered belief to replace it.

  4. Sit in this energy and align with the universe. Get quiet & hear what wisdom comes from within (or without).

Next, we will talk about Body Consciousness. Until then remember, the present moment is where your best life happens.

With love, presence, and gratitude,
