How to Manifest Your Awakened Life - Week #36 of The Awakening Journey

The most powerful yet elusive doorway to creating your awakened life is manifesting. If you don’t like or believe in this word, try “law of attraction”, “being a magnet for success”, or whatever word or phrase works for you.

What is manifesting?

You probably know what manifesting is, it’s putting the focus on what we do want and allowing it to become. And, it’s taking the focus off and letting go of what we don’t want.

What stops us from manifesting?

Not believing. Not getting clear. Not trusting.

Attachment to the past. Or the future.

We try too hard.

We work too much at “making something happen”.

We focus on what we don’t want or what we haven’t gotten up to now.

Often, we see and attach to a vision of the past. Of what already happened but cannot be changed. We fear that this could happen again in the future.  This blocks us from really bringing in the future, right now.

The last thing that blocks us from forgetting that manifesting is active and passive. Doing and being.

Bear Bear

When my daughters were younger, I wanted to teach them more about manifesting and how to take action toward what they wanted to create in the world. They were very passionate about animals and we all wanted to manifest homes for every homeless dog and cat in the metroplex. So we had a vision. This is our being.

The doing part is the steps we took toward manifesting: The girls and I fostered and found forever homes for over forty homeless dogs -- one of them was a giant Great Pyrenees who we rescued from the Fort Worth Animal Shelter. The girls named him Bear Bear.

I walked Bear and the girls on the trail behind our home. The girls were little and Great Pyrs are protective of their family so when we saw some off-leash Weimaraners, Bear Bear had a fit and in his hurry to get to and protect the girls from threats, he turned and nipped my thigh. If he had gotten off-leash, he might’ve tried to attack the other dogs to protect us.

The bruise that was left on my thigh was awful to look at and took about three weeks to heal fully. But the mental imprint this experience left me with took a lot longer to heal.

Afterward, when I walked Bear Bear, for a long time, I could only feel/see what happened in the past. A vision of this dog getting off-leash and into another skirmish and doing damage to another dog. Or maybe next time he would nip one of the girls by mistake. This was a vision of the past that I was attached to.

This example is about dogs but how many times has this happened to you? When you only see the co-worker who didn’t work hard last month & that’s all you can see is that project they didn’t finish.

Or a child who didn’t get a good grade because they stayed up late on their phone. We can only see who they were yesterday. Not who they are right now. And we definitely don’t see who they are in the future.

We visualize the past instead of creating a new visual in our minds of what we do want to create. This is a big part of what stops us from manifesting.

Inventory time

Do an inventory and make a list of what mental pictures or visions you are still holding onto in your brain that need to be cleared out. Talk to someone, a coach, or a trusted friend, and resolve to leave this where it belongs: In the past.

With the Bear Bear experience, for quite some time, I would sense that vision of the past and feel tense when walking a dog on a leash and going nose to nose with another dog. Eventually, I stepped back and could see my tension might be impacting not just me, the dog but also my kids and people I came across. I talked to some friends who had similar experiences and I also did some journaling about it.

Eventually, with enough work, I was able to visualize my new vision when walking any dog on a leash including dogs that weren’t overly friendly. My calm nature proved to calm the pets down and I was able re-home many more homeless pets.

How do you create the future and stay present in the now?

So the past is cleared out. You have an empty canvas.

How do you have & hold a vision but be in there here and now?

Get into the vibe of the future. Meaning, what is the vibe that exists in the future for you, and what does that feel like?

Create a vision of that future and be open to what unfolds. For example, you might want a new job, right? But you “think” it will be in the industry you are already in because you can’t fathom/imagine/feel/envision anything else.

So you may miss an opportunity when it opens up because you are looking the other way. Be open to all directions.

Manifesting is about getting into the vibrational frequency of being and also doing something when you feel compelled to do so. Not when your mind is in questioning, thinking, second-guessing, obsessing - completely attached to the outcome.

Because with attachment, you are in ego.

When you let go of ego and are open to how your vision is realized, you are in manifestation.

Creating. Trusting. Believing. Gratitude. Repeat.

This Week’s Challenge

  1. Create a vision in one area of your life - write it, paint it, speak it out loud to someone, whatever resonates for you. Be clear about what you want but don’t worry about how right now.

  2. What gets in the way of this vision - do an inventory. And let it go.

  3. Now, feel what it feels like to fully embody as if you transported yourself to the future.  What are the emotions associated with it? FEEL THEM.

  4. Every morning spend a few minutes when you first wake up visioning that image, fully feeling it. Imagine it has happened, you are there, you’ve achieved it, are you smiling, laughing, proud?

  5. Now, let this go. And trust that a situation will arise and you will choose to pivot toward this vision and take action that will bring you toward it.

Next, we will talk about Leveling up Your Consciousness. Until then remember, the present moment is where your best life happens.

With love, presence and gratitude,
